
President Joko Widodo and his wife, Iriana, seized the opportunity to connect with nature and wildlife alongside their grandchildren during a recent getaway to a resort in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. Over the Eid holiday, they indulged in leisure activities, including feeding crocodiles under expert supervision.
Their adventure commenced with Sedah Mirah, the president’s granddaughter, sharing a light moment as she cautiously interacted with a crocodile, marveling at its extended tongue. President Jokowi, in his grandfatherly role, guided his grandchildren along a wooden bridge adorned with vibrant koi fish, delighting in their excitement as the fish approached for feeding.
The family’s exploration extended to bird encounters, where Sedah Mirah and Nahyan interacted with various avian species, from owls to parrots. Continuing their journey, they visited a deer shed, where the gentle creatures approached with curiosity. President Jokowi imparted lessons on attentive animal care as he guided his grandchildren in feeding the deer.
Their excursion peaked as they joined other visitors by the lake, engaging in the joyful activity of feeding geese, ducks, and pelicans. Amidst the cheerful atmosphere, the family embraced the serenity of nature and the company of diverse wildlife.
President Jokowi departed with his family as the day drew close, leaving cherished memories of bonding amidst nature’s wonders.
