102nd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama
President Prabowo Subianto has launched a Prabowo corruption crackdown in his first 100 days. He warned that underperforming or corrupt officials will face removal. “I will take action against anyone who is disobedient,” Prabowo stated, emphasizing his commitment to a clean, accountable government.
Prabowo has repeatedly stressed the need for a corruption-free government. Speaking at the 102nd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama, he shared his concerns about those opposing government programs. “Some are mocking these efforts,” he said, “but I will stay silent and keep pushing.” He added that his ministers and leaders must self-reflect and fix their mistakes.
Ministers on Notice
Prabowo isn’t playing around. He has warned cabinet ministers and heads of institutions to perform or risk losing their positions. “The people demand a clean government,” he said. “I will remove those who do not work for the people.” He emphasized that corruption has no place in his administration.
His message to the government was blunt: “Your loyalty is to the people, the state, and the nation.” He believes all officials must serve the people’s needs. Anyone obstructing this will be held accountable.
Four Key Problems Standing in the Way
Prabowo has pointed out major problems hindering Indonesia’s growth. These include online gambling, drugs, smuggling, and corruption. He highlighted that online gambling alone costs the state Rp981 trillion (over US$60 billion) in lost revenue.
Illegal mining adds to the financial strain, with losses reaching around US$7 billion. These issues, Prabowo believes, are the main barriers to prosperity. Tackling them head-on will unlock Indonesia’s full potential.
A Strong Warning to Government Officials
Prabowo has made it clear: underperforming government officials have no place in his administration. He made it known that the country needs a government that puts the people first. “We will not hesitate to act,” he warned. “I’ve given warnings many times. If you’re not serious, I will act.”
He said officials who are loyal to their jobs and the people will thrive. But anyone who obstructs progress will face consequences.
Focusing on Self-Correction
Rather than engaging in public disputes, Prabowo encourages self-correction. He urges all officials to look inward and improve their performance. “All institutions, clean yourselves up!” he urged. He believes this is the only way forward for Indonesia.
Prabowo’s focus remains clear: work for the people, or step aside. He’s not afraid to make tough decisions if needed. His leadership is about getting things done, no matter how hard the path.
Looking Ahead: A Government Focused on the People
Prabowo’s resolve to combat corruption and ensure accountability sets the tone for his administration. He’s not just talking about change; he’s taking action. The message is loud and clear: if you’re not loyal to the people, your position is at risk.
As Indonesia looks ahead, all eyes are on Prabowo’s next steps. His leadership will be judged by how well he handles corruption and ensures his ministers stay on track. For the president, the fight is far from over – it’s just beginning.
