Trade between the two countries remains robust, with Indonesia recording a surplus of $800,000 from January to November 2024. Indonesia’s exports to Malaysia totaled $10.9 billion, while imports stood at $10.1 billion.
Sugiono reiterated Indonesia’s support for Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. Both nations emphasized the importance of regional stability and cooperation to address pressing issues within Southeast Asia. They pledged to work together to strengthen ASEAN’s centrality and promote sustainable development.
